Liver Transplant Dundonald Man Completes Marathon

Philip Cairnduff from Dundonald is believed to be the first ever liver transplant recipient to run the full Belfast Marathon. He completed the course in around 3 and half hours. When he was 18 he had returned from a trip in Africa with Stormont Presbyterian Church when he found out he had sudden liver failure. He told the Belfast newsletter “I feel exhausted and delighted. There was no feeling like crossing that finish line.” Both his parents were there at the finishing line to congratulate their son on his remarkable achievement. Well done Philip!
